It's here...

Remember when I said I had something new in the works...well here it is
Kristin Page Photography
www.kristinpagephotography.com
The website is a work in progress so I would appreciate any feedback so that I can improve it. I never realized how tough it was to set up a real website with a real domain name! I won't be quiting my day job, so for now this business will grow slowly, but hopefully it will grow. I had not planned on taking the plunge into a business so soon to say the least, but when I started having people want me to take their photos, I figured, what the heck, go for it...and get legal and all that so the IRS doesn't come after me. I have had a couple of photo shoots already and 2 more booked in the next month! Check back on Monday for my most recent shoot.

In other news...Yes I am so behind in posting here! I hope to post pics from our Rodeo day this week. Hudson is clapping now and crawling all over the place. He is also pulling himself up to standing. I think Connor is really starting to enjoy having a brother to play with. Well most of the time!

Me and my boys...

We had so much fun at the zoo last weekend. This was Hudson's first trip and Connor's first time to really enjoy it and spend time looking at the animals and asking about them. The weather was perfect. We took our time at the zoo and then rode the train around Hermann Park. It was a wonderful day.

Growing Big...

And a quick update on Connor. He has been taking swimming lessons again. We are in the 8th week of the session and at yesterday's class something happened...he grew big!! He is all about telling everyone he grows big everyday. (He went bowling and it made him big!) Anyways, a switch was flipped and he didn't have to hold onto Ms. Toby's hands, he jumped to her, swam to her, dived by himself. Just like she told me in week 2 or 3, this is the age where they are afraid but one day it will just happen and they will let go. I hope this wasn't a fluke and he keeps up the braveness. He can swim!

7 Months Old Already...

Hudson has spent the most part of his 7 months sick. At 6 months he was started on Singulair and had tubes put in his ears. He has had a couple of viruses the last couple of weeks. He ran a high fever for 4 days and then as he was on the mend he came down with a cold virus and has been very snotty and uncomfortable. He is also pooping around the clock, what a mess! I hope he starts feeling better soon so we can all get some sleep!
Hudson has been on the verge of crawling for a while now, but getting sick set him back a couple of weeks as he did not want to play on the floor! Once he figures out how to get his arms and knees to go together there will be no stopping him. On Sunday I left him playing on his tummy in his room for a minute and when I returned he was sitting up! He can pull himself up from his tummy to his knees if he gets a hold of something sturdy. He is very strong. He adores his big brother. He laughs more at his silly brother then he does at anything else and he has accepted brother's tough love! He loves to eat and will let you know when he wants more. He has started saying "ba-ba" instead of only vowel sounds.
We love you little brother!
And a little sweetness from big brother...Hudson was crying in his room (because mommy walked out for a minute) and big brother ran in there (I followed him to see what he would do). Big brother says to little brother "what's the matter?...where's mommy?". Too cute. He knows that little brother is a mama's boy too!

Learning to Shoot Manual...

I have gotten so far behind in blogging...yes I hope to catch up one day. Until then here is a photo to hold you over. My sweet little guy is 6 months old now! This was shot in Manual mode, which means I told the camera exactly what to do, nothing automatic about it! I have a lot to learn, but I am definitely making progress.

Not Me Monday

A short Not Me Monday...

I do not have a pair of my 3 year old's underwear in my purse today because I forgot to take it out after taking with us to the Monster Jam show on Saturday. I did not stash them in my purse because my 3 year old has been too busy lately to keep his underwear dry. We did not accept 2 dollars from some super nice folks with lots of kids at the Monster Jam show so that we could avoid a tantrum over the tub of cotton candy. But if we did after they insisted(because they have been there) we would definetly get the "pay it forward" urge.

I do not spend 3 hours driving each week for 1 hour of swimming classes so that my kid can learn to swim while grasping on to his teachers fingers for dear life while he swims underwater across the pool.

I did not let my 3 year old finish his baby brother's applesauce last night and also try some of his water out of the bottle. Nor do I let him suck on/play with his brother's pacifier in public.

A letter to Connor...

Dear Connor,

I want to write these things down because someday they will be no longer. You are the sweetest boy I will ever know. Out of nowhere you say; Mommy, I love you, I love everyone, I love my brother, we all love everyone. You give hugs and kisses all the time. You always want to love on Mommy and be near Mommy. Your heart is full of love. It makes me think I did something right, taught you true love because that is what I have for you - deep, unending true love from the bottom of my soul. I hope you never ever loose this ability to love and show love. That is my wish for you and I will do everything I can so that you don't loose it. You are the epitome of what love is. My sweet, sweet Bugaboo who brings Mommy to bed to lay on your pillow so you can kiss me goodnight and hold me close. When you were a baby you had to have your arm down my shirt, always wanting to be near me. Don't worry, Mommy and Mommy's love are not going anywhere. I am so proud of you and love you so much. Always and Forever.
~ Mommy
